Indiana Department of Health – Office of Minority Health (ISDH – OMH)

Indiana Department of Health – Office of Minority Health (ISDH – OMH) focuses its efforts on improving disparities in preventable health conditions among minorities throughout the state. The OMH serves the Hispanic/Latino, Black, Asian, Pacific Islanders, and Native American Indian populations (approximately 14% of the state's population).

Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change

In 2005, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation launched Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change to seek and evaluate projects aimed at reducing racial and ethnic health care disparities. Finding Answers manages an $8 million grant portfolio that funds program evaluations in 33 health care organizations across the country.

Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention (RCAP)

The Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention (RCAP), which began operations in March, 1994, and is headquartered at Indiana University, is a joint project of Indiana University, University of Colorado, and University of Kentucky. The major focus of the RCAP is the promotion of HIV/STD prevention in rural America, with the goal of reducing HIV/STD incidence.

Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions (HCHDS)

The Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions (HCHDS) was established in 2002. The Center brings together the health research and program development resources of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes to demonstrate the efficacy of public health, social science and medical science in mitigating health disparities. Its mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge to reduce racial/ethnic and social class disparities in health status and health care through research, training, community partnerships and advocacy.
